What a Magical Time to Something Something

Well, I finished revisions, and as always it was a triumph of creativity, a something of inspiration, a blah blah blah of personal triumph.  I'd like to thank Matt and Andy and Rob for their help, for they were surely inspirational and wise in the creative thing that happened ... again.

This newest draft is, like the previous ones, the best one yet!

Now I look forward to the future, when I see the fruits of my labor realized by a talented crew of you know, the guys we've been talking about who are great.  There is a sense of optimism in the air, again, still, which has given us yet the same amount of strength to push predictably forward on this incredible journey.

In case you couldn't tell by my tone, yes the latest revisions on the script have been completed and yes I'm way happy but no way am I going to celebrate just yet.  It's nice to be done, sure, but in the big picture it's just one more step towards the inevitable final cut - the big task right now is casting!

Since I haven't been able to attend these past casting auditions, I've been reviewing the videos thanks to DropBox.  It was a completely surreal experience hearing a bunch of actors and actresses read select parts of my script in a professional manner - I've been so accustomed to hearing it in my head that when said out loud, I realize my dialogue is, well, kind of embarrassing.  There's all these phonetic conflicts and syntax idocies that, on paper, seemed like great writing but when spoken aloud seemed like goddamn gibberish.  I'm taking the initiative to try and correct this all for the next round of notes, but don't know if I'll be able to succeed without hearing it from the actors.

Speaking of the actors, man they are fun!  Most are great, some are spectacular, and some are just plain wrong.  It's entertaining to watch those last ones in that "so bad it's good" way, which I can afford to do since I'm not the director or producer, who have to take it seriously.  Watching them also helps me see who is right for the part, since knowing what not to look for only makes the competent candidates that much more credible.

We've got callbacks tomorrow night, which I'm finally attending!  We'll keep you posted.
