Well, my blog aversion for the past two weeks has finally, inevitably caught up to me - I got a "talking to" about slacking off on blog posts. It wasn't anything malicious, just a little kick in the ass about getting back on track. I needed it, too, both a helluva work schedule and basic out-of-touchness have kept me away from Uncle Slavko's Fun Time Blog for too long.
Having a full-time job - and a crazy busy Hollywood one at that - sure makes me appreciate my glorious 7-month funemployment stint. All I had to do then was sleep in, cook food, watch movies, work on Love in the Time of Monsters, and not spend money on my girlfriend. After a couple months though, that sure got tedious. I could feel my work ethic atrophy. I was busy with LitToM, sure, but that wasn't paying the bills.
Now that I'm back at work full time, well, it's predictably draining. I get a paycheck at the end of the week but don't have much time to devote to LitToM. Fortunately, our crack team of Matt, Andy, Allison, Rob and Doug have been killing it lately, holding casting sessions, production meetings, investor pitches, and anything else the project needs to maintain momentum. It's kind of intimidating for me, looking at this whirlwind of productivity but being so distant from it. I know I have to latch back on, but to do so first have to deal with the grounding shackles of everyday life.
So, you know, that's what's going on there.
