Howdy Folks! You know one of my favorite things to do on the blog is point out the awesome things the cast and crew of Love In The Time Of Monsters are up to out in the world. We've talked about actor Hugo Armstrong, (who plays Chester in the film) before, because he keeps winning LA Ovation Awards (the guy must have a mantle of those things by now). Now a film he stars in, co-wrote, and co-produced called OK, Good has been released on VOD!
OK, Good played in festivals throughout the world over the past year or so, and was picked up for distribution by Slamdance/Cinedigm. When the film played at Slamdance, Hugo and the director Daniel Martinico did a really interesting interview (with movablefest.com), which can be found here.
Here's the official synopsis:
"Guided by motivational affirmations and encouraged by an intense physical-movement workshop, actor Paul Kaplan struggles through a series of demoralizing auditions that push him towards the edge. OK, Good mixes vérite technique with confining formalism to build a hypnotic and tweaked-out meditation on performance, identity, anxiety, and one man's personal apocalypse."
And here's the (very David Lynch-ian) trailer:
