Did any of you attend Comic Con in San Diego this year? Well, besides the annual appearance by Director Matt Jackson and Distributor Indican Pictures, there was some BIG NEWS to come out of it this year!
Actor and all around great guy Joe Fria, who played Marla and Carla's Dad in Love In The Time Of Monsters is going to be featured in a little movie called….
Joe had been coy about his current "secret" project, but as of Comic Con, it's official! Joe will be playing Oblo, a member of the Ravagers. Apparently he and some of his fellow Ravagers disagree with Yondu's leniency with Quill, and break off into a new faction. Got that? Sounds fun and I'm sure Joe will be fantastic in the role.
You'd never recognize him based on his camcorder-wielding dad in LiTToM:
We're so stoked that Joe gets to cavort around the galaxy! We're all big James Gunn fans (no relation, sadly!) and Guardians 1 was one of our favorite movies of the past few years. It's always nice to see comedy blended in so well with other genres (like some other movie we could mention). Amazingly enough, this is our third brush with the Marvel movie universe; you had Doug Jones (Dr. Lincoln) as the Silver Surfer in Fantastic Four, and Danny Vasquez (Armando) appeared in Ant Man last year! Did you see him?
